Big clot & bright red blood 2 weeks post partum

Having given birth 2 weeks ago, by last week my lochia became scant. Uterus contracted right down according to mw who has since discharged me.

But tonight i have just passed a large clot in the toilet, i felt it come out & it was roughly the size of a golf ball and my bleeding has become fresh red again. This isn't normal is itConfused

Whats worse is that i'm alone tonight with my 5dc, dh works night. When should i start shitting a brick?

I passed a clot the size of a grapefruit when my lochia became light but that was on day 2. I managed to catch it in tissue and had a root through it (sorry waaay tmi) I saw a white line which was some of the membranes. I called in to labour ward and they told me it was just a defence mechanism my body had to get rid of the membranes that didn't come out when dd2 was born. They asked if I was bleeding very heavily after the clot came out, which I wasn't, but it was red again.

I'm not sure about whether this could happen 2 weeks afterwards but I would definitely call the hospital and ask their advice.

Don't panic. Thanks

Thankyou Mumraa will keep an eye out overnight & will get dh home from work if i start bleeding heavily.
If it stays scant i will wait & see and then call gp in morning if need be.

Just flumuxed at the blood going back to red when it has been brown/yellow all week and it has shook me up x

This happened to me at 3 weeks. Shook me up too and I was a nurse! Agree with above, call LW but try not to worry.

Same thing happened to me and I was very worried. I was told not to worry unless clots are bigger than grapefruits.

Thankyou everyone, haven't had anymore episodes since and bleeding has become scant again x
