I was laid in bed and I felt something trickling out so I jumped up thinking I was about to wee myself and as I was rushing to the toilet I felt a gush of water between my legs. I couldn't stop it but wasn't sure what it was and it was all over my pyjamas. It doesn't really smell like wee but after that there was a lot of thin watery creamy discharge on the tissue when I wiped.
I've been having pains on and off since last night like I need to go to the toilet (not for a wee Blush) but put it down to baby's position. It's radiating down my back and into my hips and feels like it's coming in waves. They woke me up in the night.
Forgot to add I'm 38+5. Yesterday at MW baby still wasn't fully engaged though.
I've rang the hospital they've told me to lie down with a pad for an hour. Could this be it or am I just setting myself up for disappointment?!

In that case can I have chocolate cake for breakfast? It's calling my name from the kitchen.

That's how it started for me. About 48 hrs after waters broke I had a baby! I was in complete denial at the time and claimed my contractions were Braxton Hicks. The other pregnant ladies on the ward were laughing at me staggering round telling DD she was not to come yet as we weren't ready (She was a bit prem)!

Good luck!

Slh122 · 21/01/2014 11:16

arms I'm really not ready either. I had a false alarm the other day and on the way out the door realised I'd idiotically forgot to put any baby clothes in my hospital bag so in a panic I shoved in the first things I could find. DP has said hospital bag in his car at work and I've just remembered I haven't sorted the bloody clothes out. So if this is it DS will be wearing a nice mismatching outfit for his first photos!

Sounds like it! Definitely should have chocolate cake for breakfast to celebrate just in case...

MrsJK · 21/01/2014 14:52

Any update OP?

armsandtheman · 21/01/2014 15:31

Slh, don't worry about a thing. When people offer to help you can get them to bring the stuff you need. Plus they usually have emergency stuff for the desperate on the ward.

Our hospital has a Boots and I had to send DH to buy an outfit for DD from there. I had an epidural by then, on drip to speed things up. He looked at me like it was the biggest challenge in the world. I had to tell him to find a woman to help as I couldn't! Bless him, he found a teenage shop assistant who also didn't have a clue and together they managed to find the most complicated thing to get a baby in to that I've ever seen!

(I do think mixed up outfits are pretty cute though).

As we've not had an update, hopefully it's because baby is safely on the way (or even better here) and MN is the last thing on your mind!

Am sat here cuddling my gorgeous 5 hour old baby as we speak. He arrived at 7.19 pm weighing 7 lb 8 oz and he is absolutely perfect. I went from 3 cm to 10 in about 45 minutes!
