as with any labour, natural beginning or otherwise, they are all unpredictable. coming from someone who had an induction with first, that went brilliantly, pessary to baby in 19 hours. but fast and painful 2nd and 3rd natural start.

take it contraction by contraction. my mindset was that I don't know what each one would feel like so breath away this one and wait for the next. stay as mobile as pos (but I imagine based on you gestation and baby weight you might be monitored...you can be monitored while sitting on a birthing ball and walking around next to the machine but obviously only to the lengths of the cables). you wont be allowed In the pool.

if it is pessary they will insert it and if you don't report any changes they wil not check again for 24 hours. SLEEP! it can be a slow process but not one that means labour is going to be worse or more painful. just didn't start in the middle of tescos :)

Good luck! I was also induced bang on 37 weeks, due to waters breaking a few days before - so didn't need pessary, just drip. Baby was 5lb 12oz so small-ish. Due to the monitoring I couldn't have as active a labour as I would have liked but the ball helped for as long as I could manage it, then being on my knees for a bit. And it was a fast and furious labour! All over in just under 2 hours. A cooling water spray and some isotonic drinks were a godsend :)

Thankyou :), I hate pain haha I'm thinking my labour will be fast! All prepared not feeling a epidural tho as want todo it all naturally but we will see! I'll have ago on the ball and gas and air is all I want! Cnt wait to meet my baby boy!

I think a positive attitude like yours goes a long way! I was more excited than scared - we all know its going to hurt so no point getting worked up! Im no good with pain either but managed on just gas and air - although it progressed so fast that when I changed my mind I couldnt get an epidural anyway (and ultimately grateful for that!). Tomorrow will be amazing you'll finally see your wee boy wow! :)
