Nesting insanity.

Losing will to live. My dh ignored all my requests to help sort out house and get things ready for baby pre-Christmas. We are now doing house renovation when I'm nearly 39 weeks. It's driving me insane.

Has anyone else gone crazy in the nesting phase?

I thought is got my home birth set up sorted but its all gone wrong. We are sky high in junk with no useable rooms at all. HmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmmHmm

oh no Sad but I bet it's only transient, you'll suddenly de junk the place and then baby will arrive.

We went from having nothing organised to suddenly being nearly all sorted last week, my to do list now has many more strikeththroughs than just words now

My EDD date is today and I finally unpacked the last box from our November house move yesterday. There are still things to do/build but the nursery is painted, has curtains etc so we'll manage - basically my mantra while everything looked like a building site was "if the baby has somewhere to sleep we'll work out the rest"

Try and remember that as you sort out one room there's a good chance that you'll sort of create a domino effect so other rooms end up looking worse as they're filled with stuff you've had to move around to make room for the work to be done.

Basically it sucks so try and not sit in the middle of it too much if possible.

Thanks fizzleroo & cadidog. It's good to hear others are at it too. I'm blaming dh because I really rely on him to literally do all the heavy lifting as I have SPD so the baby stuff didn't get taken out of attic & cellar until new year and its only now that's done we started on redecorating.

Very true what you say about other rooms getting worse for other rooms to get better.

By the end of today I should have my bedroom & guest room & ds room back, but kitchen under dust sheets.

Just crazy to be doing it so close to end of pregnancy!

I totally sympathise, have been obsessed about tidying and sorting since month 5. We have a tiny house and lots of crap to clear. Before pregnancy I was completely lazy about housework etc, hormones haven driven me mental....

I'm in exactly the same situation except I'm booked in to be induced tomorrow!! At 37weeks I thaught of have a couple more weeks nesting sorting the house out, obviously not. I have today to sort everything aggghhhh!! Haven't even started yet Shock

My nesting instinct was really strong. We emigrated late in my pregnancy and there were boxes everywhere in our new house. The baby's room bothered me deeply! One night at 38 weeks DH got home from work at about 9pm and I was really quiet - when he pushed as to what the matter was I burst into tears and said I couldn't go one more night not knowing the babies room was ready! Bless him - we got up, moved the boxes, built the cot and I ironed everything including muslins!! All done by 3am and then this wave of calm flooded over me and I was happy! Madness...
