best of luck with yours. i am sick of waiting.
can i ask how far gone you will be when you have yours and when did they give you your date??
i will be 37 weeks when i get my date and worried they don't book me in on time or forget about me lol!!

tgamble13 · 13/01/2014 16:19

I have mines tomorrow! just back from the pre op first on the list!!!eeeeekkkkkkk!!!!!!majorly nervous now how am I to sleep tonight! this is my first what about u?

cravingcake · 13/01/2014 19:54

I'm having one on Tuesday next week if that counts. I'm so over being pregnant but not quite ready to deal with a newborn and 2 yo DS so am starting to get the panic creeping in.

I have got my mum coming to stay for 5 weeks with the intention that she will help look after DS during the days (DH works for himself so cant take time off like a normal 9-5 job), she arrives on Thursday.

Sneezy86 · 13/01/2014 20:26

ooooo me! :) I'm booked in for mine Friday too. Can't wait for it to hurry up. Having pre-op tomorrow. tgamble do you know if it's standard procedure to tell you where you are on the list of just your hospital?

Also- anyone know what the chances of being sent home as they have too many emergencies in are? I would literally chain myself to the door if they try that.

This is my first and I was booked in at exactly 39 week at my 'check she's still breech' scan at exactly 37 weeks.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 13/01/2014 20:37

I wish mine was this week. I am not dealing well with the physical or emotional side of pregnancy any more. Lots of pain from SPD. Struggling to stay vertical. Unfortunately mine is likely to be scheduled for about 5 weeks' time Sad Unless some new information comes to light at my additional scan this week...

I'm strangely looking forward to it. Will be my 3rd section so not too worried.

feekerry · 13/01/2014 20:40

ah so maybe i won't be left too late.sneezy!! also get my date at 37 week appt.
i have heard that you would be unlucky to be pushed back more than one or two emergencies but.suppose that can vary massively.
i also heard they try avoid doing them on a Friday due to.staffing levels over weekend etc but that is purely hear say. apparently alot.of.hospitals don't want you in over the weekend if they can help it.
best of luck, i am v jealous that you will be all.done and sorted by the weekend!!

Sneezy86 · 13/01/2014 20:49

I was surprised they booked it for the Friday due to the weekend and I would be so devastated if they made we wait over the weekend after preparing myself for Friday. Hoping/assuming I will get transferred back to my home town hospital pretty pronto to spend a few days anyway as the city hospital I'm having the ELCS in is notorious for booting you out as soon as baby is out!

Don't want to be sat around all day either as I find it extremely uncomfortable to sit/ stand/ do basically anything anymore. Oh and there is the slight matter of my HG which is still with me even now (just not as bad as the early days) and one of the worst triggers for it is not eating. Oh Friday is going to be so much fun!!!

OhCaptainDarling · 13/01/2014 21:07

13 ooohhh how's exciting! Will you sleep tonight? Please keep us posted.

Fee I was given my date at 20wks. So sadly I can't advise.

Sneezy Hurrah snap! I've already had my pre-op, when I asked about the list MW told me they do it the evening before. But I heard another MW tell the girl in the bay next to me, she was 1st on Friday not that i was ear-wigging, but it's only a curtain At my hospital we have 2 OR's - 1 for EMCS and the other for ELCS. All ELCS are done by lunchtime. In order to free up the other OR. MW told me they very rarely change the dates as they only book in 3 ELCS per day. HTH

This will be my 2nd section, 1st was an EMCS and frankly I wasn't going through all that again Smile

cravingcake · 13/01/2014 21:10

My hospital only does ELCS on Tuesdays & Fridays, i am pleased i'm on Tuesday though.

When i went in last time (induction due to waters breaking but no contractions) they said to me that they just run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, doesnt matter what time/day it is, my induction started late friday evening.

OhCaptainDarling · 13/01/2014 21:14

Should say the girl who was told she was first on Friday is having twins, so i'm guessing thats a higher risk section, hence why she's first.

Fair enough I say.

I was given a whole stack of paperwork in which it's states, sections start at 8.30am. MW told me last week, they try and have all section finished by 10.30am another MW told me lunchtime. So god only knows!

craving i'm so over it too. Hurrah up baby, I want sleepless nights, dirty nappies and cracked nipples Grin

Sneezy86 · 13/01/2014 21:22

Oh that's sounding more positive that I will defo be done then. Does anyone mind sharing the names of these hospitals (if they don't mind giving away where they are) so I know if it's the same as me :P

cravingcake · 13/01/2014 21:23

I'm already having sleepless nights so sleepless nights with a squishy cuddly newborn will be much better. And bring on the dirty nappies, i dont plan on changing many for the first few weeks Grin

You have just reminded me to dig out the nipple sheilds & double check i've got lansiloh cream though Smile

OhCaptainDarling · 13/01/2014 21:32

I'm down south, south east (only just) could be south west depending on which way you twist the map Grin

jr in oxford for me. my first was also an epic emcs and i too ain't going thru that again!!! bring on a nice calm elecs!!!
i soooooo want my date now. seem to have this over whelming need to know the plan for the day. its driving me nuts. must be the hormones!!

SugarMiceInTheRain · 14/01/2014 12:50

I will be 39 weeks exactly on a Friday, and don't want to be having my section on a Friday, due to the staffing levels over the weekend (all my doctor friends agreed when I saw them over Christmas) plus I also really don't want the baby to be born on Valentine's Day as it will create problems in future when they want to celebrate with friends/ book a restaurant table on their birthday etc... The only problem is that I am in so much pain and discomfort that the thought of waiting another 3 days is already driving me demented. I suppose I just have to wait til I see my consultant next Monday. Maybe she will agree to do it at 38+5, given my other problems - can barely stay vertical due to pelvic pain and am only 34+4 today. Sad

With my ELCS last time, I was done first, in at 9am. It was really quiet and we had a bunch of extra bods in the room at the same time as there were no EMCS taking place at the time!

Sneezy86 · 14/01/2014 15:00

Just back fro pre-op.

I will get a call Thursday evening telling me to go in for either 8 or 10 on Friday. They said it is very, very unlikely it won't go ahead and they only schedule 3 ELCS a day (for the morning). Feeling much happier now I know it is going to happen :)

They are going to transfer me back to my home town hospital after too (either Friday evening or Saturday) which is good as I will be able to stay there much longer, it's much quieter and it's much easier for family.

Now just have to wait for the phone call so I know what time to take my drugs and pre-op drinks. Did everyone else get a sachet of weird shower gel to use in the morning too?

feekerry · 14/01/2014 17:50

that's great news sneezy. sounds like you are all geared up and ready to go for Fri am! lots of good info re your pre op. thanks for sharing. makes me feel more informed! presume its some kind of antiseptic wash?
right with you sugar.... late pregnancy is so shit. can't wait to have that date in my hand. roll on nxt wed when i see the consultant.

feekerry · 14/01/2014 17:51

hope all went well gamble x

OhCaptainDarling · 14/01/2014 18:09

Can't understand why they just didn't tell you nil by month from midnight or something like that? Anyway, no I wasn't given any shower gel stuff. Just pills to take the night before and on Friday am. Was told not to put any creams etc on my tummy.

Dealing with horrid heartburn today, it's killing me. Off to the pub later with the girls, leaving DH with streak and the x-box.

OP posts:
Sneezy86 · 14/01/2014 20:23

ohcaptaindarling I've got to be nil by mouth from either 2 or 5 depending on which time they want me in.
Do you have any plans for the next two days to try and make them pass quickly? I'm going to go insane waiting for them to pass. In too much pain to actually do anything proper or go anywhere.

OhCaptainDarling · 16/01/2014 14:42

sneezy how are you feeling for tomorrow!

I feel sick, still haven't packed my bag. Everything is out just need to pop in it. By this time tomorrow I'll be a mother of 2. Fuckkkkkkk Grin

OP posts:
Sneezy86 · 16/01/2014 15:48

Well I've spent today being sick! Had really bad HG throughout but have some days which are worse than others now. Woke up in the night to be sick and haven't stopped since :(
Everything is packed and ready though I'm just super excited :)
Can't believe you haven't packed. I would be so stressing if I wasn't packed. I have everything nicely lined up in the hall to chuck in the boot when hubby gets home so it doesn't need doing in the morning.

If I don't hear from you before- good luck :)

feekerry · 16/01/2014 18:04

best of luck ladies for tomorrow. v jealous!!
update when you can!
