Is anyone else experiencing this? Im 38 weeks pregnant today and from early hours of this morning ive had awful cramp in the back of my thighs... its making it very uncomfortable to sit or lay down..standing is the most comfortable position but the cramp is still there...ive tried walking, resting, a bath and paracetamol but nothing is easing it... i cant decide whether the cramp is getting worse or whether im just getting tired so it seems to be worse... i do have some lower back ache but that feels like my normal braxton hicks that ive been getting for the past few weeks

Oh yes, I've had that in both pregnancies! It is agony. I had it in my lower legs in the middle of the night and it was an effort not to shout in pain! Nothing helped but it did go away after a bit and I've only had it a couple of times.

Had this since 20 weeks but in my calves. I'm almost 39 weeks now.

Every. Single. Night. Horrible :(

Have you tried magnesium tablets? I'm taking them this time ostensibly to stop early contractions, but a happy side effect is that I've had no cramps (compared to nightly ones last time).

You can also bath in magnesium and it will help as it is absorbed by the skin. Chemists should sell it.

Also a good tip is bending your foot and toes towards you...the opposite of pointing them away...this saved me at night times!
