38 weeks, 3cm dilated and plug gone - how long?!

Just that really, anyone want to hazard a guess Grin? Having regular contractions but most of them aren't painful. Lost a bit of plug yesterday and loads today, was 3cm dilated yesterday morning but discharged from hospital as painful contractions came to a halt.

Feeling in limbo and just want baby to arrive now! I am not good at waiting Grin

Could be anytime, try and stay on your feet I was told it would speed things up, it worked I crawled back to the delivary suite and home six hours later!

Waiting is so annoying, especially when you thought you were getting somewhere.

3cm is good though!

Is it your first dc?

Shroomboom · 10/01/2014 22:21

Have been trying do get things done, and moving but it doesn't seem to be doing anything!

MsInterpret it's dc2 Smile Thanks re 3cm, I was such a wuss and was crying with the contractions Blush Much as I'm willing things to start up again I'm not looking forward to the pain!

Two days mild at home and then went in because unbearable, walked out that night, my first was horrific though!

Shroomboom · 10/01/2014 22:26

Oh gosh! When you say mild, the contractions were still painful were they? The most pain I'm having at the mo is when the baby is moving around because it feels so sore in there!

They were painfull but not constant, it turned out it was back labour, I just felt better pottering about at home.

Shroomboom · 10/01/2014 22:38

Was the baby back to back then? That must've been v painful.
Much as I'm not looking forward to it I'm willing the pain to return, I can't bear the waiting!

It was painfull but by the time it got unbearable I just wanted it over, the waiting is the worst bit...

It's impossible to tell how long but you can speed baby a long :) Spend as much time upright/ mobile as you can, use the weight of your baby to help open your cervix :)

MrsHuxtable · 11/01/2014 09:19

Ha, unfortunately how dilated you already are isn't always related to when labour is starting. If you're interested you can search for my thread from this week in pregnancy. I was almost 6cm dilated for over a week, 4cm for quite a while before that.

Wherediparkmybroom · 11/01/2014 17:48

How you doing shroom?

Shroomboom · 11/01/2014 18:57

Nothing happening Wheredi. It's still v sore and I'm getting twinges and painless contractions but don't think anything's going to happen tonight. Feel like I'll be pg forever at this rate!

Checking in. Anything to report?

I hope you've either had a baby or a bit of a rest!

Shroomboom · 13/01/2014 07:28

Still here and still pregnant! Have done lots of resting in amongst walking and keeping busy so hopefully I'll have a bit of energy for when the baby does eventually decide to make an appearance Smile
Thanks for thinking of me!
