Vbac after 11 years?

I had ds by elective section 11 years ago (totally elective, no medical reason, although I went into labour 2 weeks before my planed section date so it was all a bit rushed!).

I'd always thought I'd have another section, but now I am wondering about a vbac. I suffered a mc at 12 weeks last year and it went so fast, contractions half an hour apart to on too of each other in the space of two hours, I ended up in cervical shock and in a very bad way, so I scared that similar will happen with a natural birth.

The only problem with my section was having the epidural. It felt like lighting bolts going up and down my back and legs, I was passing out with the pain. It was utterly I bearable and I am terrified of that happening again.

I am confused at what to do. I am going private from 36 weeks, so it is totally my choice which way to go.

Does the 11 year gap mean I should have less problems wih a vbac?
