What checks before discharge from hospital?

You'd think I'd know, what with this being DC4, but I've had a different experience with each one...

Anyway, straightforward birth yesterday evening. Only in overnight because waters had started to go more than 24hrs previously. Temperature/heart rate monitoring for baby all fine, BP etc for me all fine. Can anyone think what else they need from us before we can go home?

And any idea how long I'll have to wear these godawful compression stockings for?

Do they need to make sure you are passing urine ok? Hospitals are renowned for taking their time to discharge.
I was in hospital for surgery after the birth of my daughter and was told I should be discharged xmas day morning. Well all the checks were ok at 8am but I was not discharged until 2pm.

We also had newborn hearing test in hospital but maybe its different in England (Im in Scotland). We were kept in a few days for DS temperature but even when it came up we had to nag them to do our paperwork to let us away! Hope you get home soon :)

I only had to wear the stockings until I was up and mobile again and then was able to take them off (straight away more or less)

Tests I had was that I had passed urine, bp and temp taken.

Baby had hearing and postnatal check,

I had discharge books filled in and then was free to leave.
