Coccyx Damage Childbirth

I've had physio (ultrasound treatment) following damaging my coccyx, but it hasn't helped. The physio advised there wasn't much they could do other than that. Wondered if anyone had had the same injury and how long the pain lasted for? And whether anyone had had any other treatments...?

Hello, not had the injury myself, but try acupuncture or electro acupuncture. There are points around the buttock and it can help in some cases. You can get it on the nhs. If you're still under the Physio, ask them- if they don't practice acup one of their colleagues might.

I damaged my coccyx during dd1's birth almost 5 years ago. I had physiotherapy four months after her birth because I could no longer stand the pain, plus it was causing sciatica. I had around 8 sessions. It was amazing and gave great relief

I underwent chiropractic care when pregnant with dd2 - maybe this might help you now?

Not thought of that. Can you get on nhs or would I need to go private?

I paid for it - there is a woeful lack of understanding re childbirth and coccyx damage. It was actually my chiropractor whosr advice made me make up my mind to request ELCS (much to the irritation of my OB). Like I say, the lack of knowledge here is scary.

You never know, though, you might be able to get an NHS referral
