Mucus plug

First pregnancy and I am 38+2 today. Lost my mucus plug yesterday...

I know this is only a sign things are heading in the right direction but I am anxious this baby is going to come and I don't feel ready. Selfishly I want this week over with (Christmas, family visits, new year, etc.) and my baby to born in January.

Friends all seem to have gone into labour very soon after having their 'show' and just wondered what others have experienced?

I know everyone is different but I lost part of my MP about a week before DC1 was born.

I then lost more the day/evening before the actual birth.

How are you feeling? Pains/niggles/pressure?

Good two weeks with DD1. I'm 39+4 this time, and no plug seen as yet so hope it won't be the case again!

It seems to differ wildly.

I lost my mucous plug 4 weeks before baby was born but when it was streaked with blood that's when things started happening.

Thanks, that does make me feel better.

I feel baby has dropped and a little pressure low down but otherwise not much. Plug was streaked with red/brown and came away in several stages throughout the day.

I had bloody show ALL DAY on Tuesday but still no bloody baby so it can mean something or nothing - sorry I know that's not particularly helpful . With my first I lost mucous plug weeks before labour, then had bloody show a day or two before labour started with my waters breaking.

I lost my plug on Monday after lots of discomfort since last friday. It was completely clear and a blob of jello.
After a very bad night on Monday, my waters went at 9am Xmas Eve and baby arrived 1hr 50mins later!

Baby arrived on 29 December after mucus plug appeared on Boxing Day
