had an emcs 20m ago and whilst it was all okay in the end i remember v little of the details. elecs due in apprx 4 weeks and was looking at the Jan sales to get some nice hospital pj's etc as felt totally unprepared last time!!

can't remember what i wore for the actual section??? if anything?? will they give me a hospital gown to wear or can i bring a gown/night dress to wear???

i presume they put a pad underneath you till your okay to stand (remember v yuky stuff coming out when i stood up) so no bottoms or pants after the op?? how long till i can put pants on etc?

thanks!

They will give you a gown to wear during the op, they left a pad I between my legs and I was in bed until the next day. They just kept changing the pad. I put nightie on once I was back on the ward. The next morning when I got out of bed a lovely health care assistant helped me put knickers on to shuffle to the loo. We have no dignity at such times but somehow it doesn't matter!! By the morning after the op I was fine to go for a shower and sort myself, albeit slowly. Hope that all goes well, and that you have a lovely planned c section as I did! I have very good memories of mine

I wore a hospital gown overnight & in the morning the midwife whipped the catheter out, and sent me hobbling to have a shower. I then wore rather attractive 'apple catcher' pants & pj's.

I had two adult nappies (one after each other) and wore a hospital gown for the op (ELCS). When I got back to the ward I got a wash and put on another gown, this time back to front for easy access to boobs. The next day when I got up I had a shower and put on my own knickers and a pad and another gown back to front.
Good luck!

Hospital gown for the operation.. and at some point I got into my own stuff but I think it probably wasn't until the next morning.
