My local hospital, Colchester General, has been the subject of a big investigation of malpractice in some of its areas, mostly cancer care but there are one or two other areas that have come under scrutiny. Am due to give birth to DC1 in five weeks - either in the hospitals midwife-led unit or the main labour ward and am bit worried. Does anyone have any recent experiences at Colchester General?

My last Colchester birth was 15 years ago when it had just opened so not really, but my current high risk Antenatal care has been brilliant.
IIRC the trouble is with cancer services. Nothing to do with Antenatal/delivery.

What I can tell you for sure is that the food is horrendous! Take supplies and make sure DH is primed to bring you takeaways if required! Grin Wink

Can I get a message to you mustard? Can't seem to pm you. I have been a Midwife for over 17 years and worked there for 2 months this year so I have got pretty up to date experience. Perhaps you could pm me then I can reply?
