Massaging 3rd degree tear scar

I had a 3rd degree tear and haven't had any pain or problems but at my 6 week check up have been recommended to massage the area as the skin on the scar is very tight. Obviously it would need to be an unperfumed oil but does anyone know if I could use bio-oil? I know it is meant to be good for healing scars but not sure if you can use it down there (just externally).

Bio oil should be ok, or you could use a drop of standard olive oil, popping some in the bath (don't wash your hair though as it will be covered!) will help too.

I used a bit of Bio Oil on my episiotomy scar because despite giving me no real issues it felt tight.

The Bio Oil was a miracle cure for the tightness and I don't notice it at all now.
