Just interested to hear people's stories about their caesareans or natural births at this hospital....

I'm having my baby there next March (ELCS) and am intrigued as to what to expect.....

I have a friend who went there. I don't know what her experience was like though I'm afraid! Sorry, I'm rubbish Smile

I remember she was concerned when she first looked up their stats as they had a much higher than normal rate for more medicalised births, including C sections - but afaik this is because they are one of the best maternity hospitals in the country so they naturally get more of the complex, higher-risk cases to start with.

Hi, I've had two natural births there and was very happy with both experiences. DS2 was so natural he almost arrived on the waiting room floor [hmmm] Both my pregnancies were overseen by the consultants' team there as I have a kidney condition, and I honestly couldn't fault the care I received throughout.
We also had a (thankfully brief) interlude in SCBU when DS2 developed a breathing problem the day after birth, again staff were amazing and bent over backwards to facilitate my breastfeeding him.
Car park is bloody expensive though!
Best of luck with your pregnancy!

Thanks for that pooks - I'm also under Consultant care there and cannot fault them. The George Eliot is Nuneaton is what's classed as my 'local' hospital but thankfully because of my medical conditions my GP wanted me somewhere more Specialised - phew!! Grin

I dread to think how much I've spent in that car park already Smile
It's a total nightmare - took me 45 minutes to even find a space yesterday when I went for an appointment Hmm

I'm glad you had such positive experiences Smile
