I'm 37 + 2 and "very" small for dates apparently. Doctors briefly mentioned early delivery (not very happy with hospital staff and their explanations )
Was jut wondering whether anyone has had similar experiences and what option they chose - being induced ? caesarean ? i'm a bit scared about being induced as google (ever to be relied on to scare the out of someone!) said small babies often struggle. also spinal block or epidural for caesarean ?
thanks

Glad you feel reassured chelsea. I am sure everything is going to be absolutely fine - As some people have said scans have a HUGE margin of error attached to them. I was induced early (35 weeks) with my DD2 due to various complications. I had a scan the day before I was induced and the sonographer told me she'd be about 7lb. She was just under 5lb. Just trust your body and your instincts - if baby is happy and healthy and moving lots I was just chill out and wait for him / her to arrive!! Looking forward to seeing your announcement!!

I am glad that you are feeling better. I have had two small for dates babies (one 5lbs 5 oz at 37 weeks and one 6lbs 13oz at 39 weeks). Both times the scans were off by nearly 2 lbs. FWIW my two smaller basbies were actually healthier that my bigger two! Try your best not to worry overly much but do listen to the consultant's advice...

Hi this is my first time on these chat things but I wanted to say my daughter was small for dates, she was only 5lbs 12oz and most people seemed to have an opinion why, it was very deflating but she is now nearly six and still petit in frame but tall, she is one of the healthiest childeren in her year. I think people get hung up on sizes of babies in stead of weather they are healthy or not
