hi everyone looks like it's going to be an induction again as i had one with dc2.
i was induced on 13 days past due date last time and although it took a while for labour to start once it did it was all very quick. this time they booked me in for 12 days after duedate which is saturday. i had a sweep last wednesday. she managed to do it but said cervix is still far back. lost mucus plug the following morning but nothing happened. not sure if there is any point going for another sweep this wednesday.
so any stories with induction with dc3+ would be appreciated!

Hi workingonitagain,
I had my dd3 9 months ago and like you i was wondering the same question at the time so thought i woud share my experience with you.
I have been induced with all 3 of my children, with DS3- i was 10 days overdue, I had a sweep a few days before which did not work then had a sweep at 3pm, and induced with pesaries around 4ish and had my DD by 8pm- 6hours in total, but once i was induced i was not allowed to go home but went to the nearest town with my partner which was 5 minutes away.
i had a walk around the shops and had to be checked by the midwife every 2hours, i was checked at 5pm and again at 7 with slight tummy pains- i stayed in the hospital and had a hot chocolate in the canteen and went to get my hopital bag from the car, when i suddenly felt sharp pains and decided to go back to the maternity ward, i said i think i need to go to the delivery suite and was told it would be a while yet and was given some paracetomal, my partner then insisted that i should be in delivery suite when the pains got worse- and to cut a long story short i was 8cm dialated and had my DD 20 minutes later with no option of pain refief, not the delivery i was expecting but glad it was quick and i went home the next morning and walking around mothercare in the afternoon, so please be warned 3rd babies can be very fast.
as i have always been induced i am not sure of the pain difference between natural and induction, but my 2nd and 3rd where ther easiest births .
hope this helps and all the best with your DC3. you will be fine..

My third was fast too. Induction was 1 week early and they went straight to breaking waters.

This was done at 7:30pm Had first twinge at around 8:30pm but nothing major. At 10pm had a heavy urge to push but thought It couldn't possibly be as the pains were not strong enough. Baby born 15 minutes later. The worst bit? The ring of fire!

thanks luckystars and 4athome! it makes me feel a bit more at ease that hopefuly it won't take too long. with each day im getting stronger and stronger period pains but they don't get any more frequent. i have booked in with the midwife for tomorrow not sure what im expecting but it's good to know i ll be seen before saturday!
