Hiya,

Just wondered if anyone else has experience of this.

Bump has been consistently in the 90th centile until now, with a week and a half to go. Suddenly i'm measuring 40 cm, & midwives want to test for cpd & gestational diabetes. Great fun, & just what i need when planning a hb!

Feel really lost & like i have no idea about birthplans etc now or what the heck to do.

charts obviously. Not 'charta'.

I really would be grateful for any advice. Maybe o should have posted in 'pregnancy'? I reasoned i'm so close to my due date it's more about the 'birth' side of things.

Are you below average height op? Every short arse I know (including me) has resembled Mr Bump by the end of pg, whereas my 6ft supermodel-esque sil appeared to be hiding a 10lb baby under her ribs. Shock

I wouldn't worry too much. I was measuring about 48 weeks by 37 weeks and all was well. Blush

Yep, shortarse here. 48cm, really? Were you able to give borth at home?

I measured about 49 weeks at 36 weeks. Nothing wrong. Not a big baby. Im also quite tall.... (5.9") I went 2 weeks over and I kid you not I could hardly hokd myself up by the end Grin

I was high risk for totally unrelated issues.....had it not been for those issues I would have been able to give birth at home.

Midwives kept telling me ds would be 11lb. I was terrifie!
He was 7lb8 ffs.

Hope yhe tests go ok, and dont panic, you may well just have alot of water. :)

absentmindeddooooodles · 06/11/2013 12:07

Sorry about all the typos. Said ds is currently using me as a climbing frame.

You poor thing - mind you, i'm havin problems getting all my muscles to co-ordinate atm,. Esp when gettin up from a horizontal position!

Did you manage to have a nvd in hospital?

Oh bless. Its bloody jard at the end isnt it!!

Yes...had severe spd and complications so they thought I may need a c-section. But managed a nvd with no pain relief not that I screamed for an epidural or anything like that :) turned out baby was back to back so did tear.....but considering the bloody size of me it went really well!

I know another girl who was 5ft1. She was measuring 44 weeks at 39 weeks. She managed a nvd at home. No complications no tearing first baby. She had to go through all the tests too, it turned out she just carried quite big! ( according to midwives) baby hilariously was6lb2 at 41+2.

I'm 5ft 3 36 weeks measuring 40 weeks. I have c section booked at 39 weeks and was feeling very nervous about early labour but hearing other peoples stories about measuring bigger and it not meaning anything has calmed me a bit Smile although glad I have the section booked lol
