Has anyone ever had anything like this happen - am 37 weeks pregnant, all has been good & normal throughout the pregnancy, no probs at all. Lost my "mucus plug" last week but midwives said no drama if baby comes a bit early as it is already big and fully-formed.
Have also had a bit of crampy lower back pain, like PMT.
So the other day I am walking along and I feel a bit clammy 'down there'. Thought it was just my laziness re: pelvic floor exercises causing some leakage, so went to the loo and was shocked to see knickers full of blood, Like the beginning of a heavyish period - bright red, no clots (sorry if tmi)
So Midwife tells me to go to hospital, where I am kept for 24 hours. No more bleeding, baby's heart rate is fine, my cervix is still long & closed, uterus is showing some 'movement' but I can't feel it. All the usual reasons for blood loss - low-lying placenta, placental abruption etc - are checked out but none applicable. So they say that it's just one of those things and send me home.
So what's going on??? Has anyone ever experienced this??
