i know it's all just anecdotal, but interested to hear your experiences of birthing baby number 4!

my 3rd was very quick. slightly worried this one might be even faster Grin

ooh and after pains... were they terrible? i remember them spoiling ds3's first feeds as it was just so incredibly painful

Mine was very quick, waters broke 4am had no pains all day.
Went to bed at 8.30pm expecting to go in the following morning to be started off.
Was woken up at 9.30pm by a massive contraction took my breath away and had me bent double went downstairs to phone the hospital and had another one, was told not to come in as 'I should know by baby 4, not to go in until they were more than 10 mins apart' despite me saying that I only just made it in with number 3.
Needed the loo, and had another huge pain DH was shouting that we would just go in anyway. As I was sat on the loo I realised I could feel the baby's head. DH phoned an ambulance, the phone operator talked him through delivering the head and the first response paramedic ran in just in time to catch DS3's body!

Yes the afterpains were horrendous, I though I was having another secret baby! Get written up for the strongest pain relief you can. I was offered paracetamol by one mean midwife but then something much, much stronger by another nice one.

Obviously less than 10 mins apart sorry!
Congratulations by the wayGrin

ahhh. that sounds a LOT like my labour with ds3! so worrying that the next one will be even quicker. eek

good idea re: pain relief. I don't think they prescribed me anything last time, I Just took paracetamol.

Book for a homebirth?

I was always induced but my official labour was 1 minute with #4 - 8cm, crowned, delivered just like that...

Had taken ages to get me into established labour though!

oh yes, homebirth very much on the cards. had ds2 and ds3 at home

ds3 was 48 miins start to finish, so not sure i'd risk getting to hosp even if i wanted to Grin
