Induction - need to decide today

I am currently in hospital for monitoring due to reduced movements. This is my 4th time in 6 weeks. I'm 38+3.

On the monitors baby heart beat is fine. I am currently awaiting a scan, and due to severe SPD and existing medical conditions I have been given 2 options, providing the scan is ok - induction or come into hospital everyday for an hr of monitoring.

I am unsure of what to do, I have read previous threads on induction and understand all the medical risks.

It takes me 30 mins to get to the hospital and my only way of getting here is if my partner drives me, however he works full time on a shift pattern so would depend on his availability, if he cannot take me to hospital then it's£30 each way in a taxi, which is £60 a day we cannot afford.

I have already had 2 sweeps and my cervix is soft and favourable so I am thinking more along the induction route.

I would just like people's opinions on what they would do in my situation.

If I was in your situation I would go with induction. Travelling for an hour every single day at your stage of pregnancy sounds exhausting. Your baby would be classed as full term by now, and hopefully with your cervix being favourable already it wouldn't be too difficult to get labour going. Good luck with whatever you decide x

I would go for the induction for all the reasons that elcranko says.

As she says you are full term now - anything past 37 weeks I believe.

Personally I would feel more anxious about being at home without fast, easy access to hospital than inducing labour a bit before it would happen naturally. But then I had a very good experience with induction of dd and so might be biased in favour.

If I were you I'd also go for an induction. Good luck! x

I would definitely be induced things can go downhill very rapidly with reduced fetal movements and you could end up having an emergency section or worse.
