Lochia returned to blood

My DD is 13 days old and she was born by elcs. My lochia has been completely normal (red blood, then pink, then tailed off to nothing). I had no bleeding or discharge at all yesterday so decided to use a panty liner today.
DS and I went for a short walk and I felt that I was bleeding. The lochia seems to have returned to blood (more bright than 'old' or dark) and soaked through a thin liner. I've had a bit more since but not much.
Should I worry?

This happened to me, and it kept coming and going for 8 weeks! I was obviously very worried after a while and was panicking about retained placenta... However I went for a scan and it was all ok. It stopped on its own eventually.

The only thing you have to watch for is if it becomes smelly, or you feel flu-like symptoms. This can be a sign of infection. Other than that I think it's pretty normal Smile

Thanks, it's not smelly and I've got no temp. But it is as heavy as my heaviest period. I might call the MW tomorrow, or she is coming on Tuesday.

I found a similar thing happened to me. I told mw who was confident that my increasing activity levels were to blame and over enthusiastic getting out of the house after going stir crazy post cs.

That said, I would recommend speaking to your midwife as these things are best checked out.

You are probably just doing too much, 13 days is early for it to stop completely.

Rest more, put your feet up and any other symptoms get seen pronto.
