Should I call labour ward

Am 41 + 4 and have been having contractions since (I now realise!) this afternoon. DC2 but had EMCS following induction with DC1 so wasn't really sure what to expect. Contractions lasting about 50 sec every 10 mins. Getting stringer each time making me really hurt in my pelvis and back. Just wondered do I need to warn labour ward I've started or just wait until I need to go in and then call to say I'm on my way?
Also has anyone started like this and then stopped?! Really don't want that to happen!
Thank you - slightly nervous 2nd time mum! x

So you're having a vbac? I would definitely ring labour ward - they may want you in as there are different criteria for vbacs

very exciting! Good luck and keep us posted!

Just ring them love, tell them everything and see what they say! Eeek! You will soon be holding your baby, best of luck, updates please!

No harm in calling to see what they want you to do.

Ohhhh, how exciting! Did you make arrangements with your midwife about when to head off to hospital? It certainly would not hurt to ring them and see what they say and it might make you feel better.

Once my labour started with my second child it continued on full steam until delivery.

I envy you..soon you will have your new baby in your arms

Sending love and hugs for a safe easy labour Flowers

Nope didn't make any plans as I'm booked in for an ELCS on Tuesday! Things seemed to have slowed a bit - typical, just as I post! On the birthing ball now to see if that picks things back up. If it does I'll give labour ward a quick ring! Thank you ladies - I'll keep you all updated xxx

Oooh! Exciting!

Just to say - and every birth is different - with DS2 I had mild contractions on and off most of the day, then they went haywire and he was born in less than 90 mins. Planned home birth, so all fine, but maybe worth just giving them a heads up (particularly given your sitch)?!

Good luck!
