Bugger. Can feel I'm coming down with a horrible cold, and I think labour is starting!

Timing eh?

So DD has had a miserable cold and cough for the last few days and this evening I am feeling clammy, runny nose., sore throat and sore back.

and the sore back seems to be turning into contractions.....

I really don't want to be giving birth with a streaming cold or have a newborn with a streaming cold!

Help!

Urgh. Maybe the contractions will become a long latent labour and you'll all have recovered before the baby arrives.
Actually that could be worse than labouring with a cold.
Though a newborn with a cold doesn't bear thinking about.

I am so not helping.
Sorry and good luck Grin

Had a long latent phase with D D so you might be right. Just hope I get some sleep as haven't had much the last few nights due to DDs cold...

Are vitamin C crystals safe to take in pregnancy? I find about a quarter teaspoon dissolved in water 4 times a day often staves off a cold, or at least reduces the symptoms.

I had a terribly heavy cold when heavily pregnant with ds2 - still had it when I went into labour sand miraculously the cold disappeared in labour! Good luck!

I had a similar thing when i had one of mine. I had an horrendous cough to the point of choking, went into labour two hours later one dd and no cough , all the best :)

My midwife told me that the adrenalin and other labour hormones take over and rid you of symptoms while you are labouring. So I wouldn't worry. Good luck with it all OP Grin

I'll be doing it again in 14 or so weeks...

Ooh feeling a bit more hopeful, thank you ladies!

Just been wrestling the toddler to sleep, and had a bit of a lie down, and cold symptoms and contractions have both eased off a bit, so maybe I'm just knackered, but either way maybe it's not as horrendous as I thought Grin
