Elective c section breech baby

I am 36 weeks and plan to have a c section (had to have 1 last time). My baby is breech. Just wondering if they will still try to turn her at my hospital appointment next week? Also, will I have a scan? Feeling v uncomfortable!

Whether you have ECV is your choice - don't be bounced into it. ECV is sometimes quite unpleasant and it does not improve outcomes even if the baby turns.
This is what the results of a study that accumulated the results of a number of other studies so quite reliable:

"The intrapartum cesarean delivery rate after successful version is 2 times that in pregnancies where there is spontaneous cephalic presentation"

A double risk of emergency caesarean means that overall an elective caesarean is far safer. EMCS, as you know, are a lot riiskier than ELCS.

However, this does not mean that atttempting a vaginal birth is hugely risky - just that in making the decision, you should know the small extra risk. I would read some of the threads on women who have had ELCS versus potentially complicated vaginal birth and make your own choice.

Personally, I would decline ECV but good luck whatever you choose.

If you had a section before they won't perform an ecv on you, your baby may turn as in theory they should have more room inside you this time. But all babies are different, good luck

I second what mrs cookie said - they won't try an ECV as it's too rough and therefore risky in terms of old scar rupturing (or at least they won't in my area!)

I had an ecv didn't work but it was a week before my due date!!

I had an ECV with my first, so obviously no previous c section. Was uncomfortable but not painful, worked perfectly and I then had a successful vaginal delivery on dd's due date. I know nothing abt whether it is a possibility to have an ECV after a c section but I would definitely do it again if I had another breech baby.
