Hi,

just wondered if anyone had given birth at Epsom hospital. We are hoping to move to the Dorking area before the birth so might have to transfer somewhere(Kingston at the moment)
So has anyone had any good/bad experiences here?

I was there and they were great. Its a small unit and the all the staff were very friendly and great at their jobs. I was only in for 1 1/2 day tho and had no complications. Foods crap but then I suspect its the same in most hospitals

I had my 1st in Epsom nearly 11 years ago and my 4th 3 years ago. I found them to be great, the neonatal there is fantastic although we were transferred to St helier when dd4 was 1 week old and thats great too for neonatal.

Agree about the food but Dh just bought me take aways

I will be having this one at Epsom In December and have no worries at all

Excellent experience with dd 7 years ago. Same midwife throughout (she stayed late) home next day. Lots of support, minimum intervention.

I had my LO there last August. Even though on the day they were really, really busy - lots of deliveries - they did a terrific job. Midwives were fantastic, everything clean, etc. Felt really well supported and informed. Wouldn't hesitate to do it all again. Have heard worse stories about Kingston and others, to be honest...

I had DD there 3 years ago. It was a failed induction followed by an emergency section. It all happened quite fast once the words "distress" were spoken. I won't go into too many details, but I will say when things went wrong I was ingood hands. They did a great job in theatre. If I still lived in Epsom I would have gone back there for DS. I recommend a private room, especially if you have a section.
