Mucous plug

Hi, just wanting some experiences with regard to the above.

For the last 2 weeks I've been losing this horrible snotty stuff down there and i mean loads of it! Which suddenly stopped yesterday. I'm assuming this is the mucous plug and it has now all come out. How long did it take your labour to kick in after this kind of loss?

Yep that's the plug. Mine went during labour so it's a good sign! I don't think there are any hard and fast rules about how long until you get your baby in your arms though, but it means you're one step closer

Thanks kippy. This is dc2 and with ds1 mine came out with my waters so this time is already different to the last. Just getting anxious now and trying to get some indication of how long it might take from this point! Wish I could just stop thinking about it! x

With dd2, the plug emerged at 7pm, waters broke at 3am and she was born at 9pm, so arrived 26 hours after the plug!

Thanks rcs, still nothing here! Thought I was getting period like cramps in the night but turned out to be nothing!

OP how far along are you in the pregnancy? I lost my mucous plug then my waters broke and contractions started about 2hrs later, then baby arrived 3hrs after that. Good luck!

I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow. My son was born at 38+4 so starting to think it should be soon! x

I can highly recommend NEVER EVER doing what I just did. I googled mucus plug to find some info and a load of google images came up.

On the plus side - I'm pretty sure I was right about thinking I lost mine earlier this evening!
