Hi! My DD was born on Wednesday (5 days ago). I had a 2nd degree tear and a few stitches. Today I have felt a very slightly uncomfortable pulling and just now in the shower I felt that one had come undone and a string is hanging down. I have no pain aside from a slight pinch on sitting down and no bleeding (that I can see, certainly nothing major).

I know these stitches are dissolvable, so I'm not sure if this is natural and all ok and just the start of the dissolving or if a stitch has come loose and I need it tied back up again?

Anyone able to help or advise?

happened to me with my c section stitch about 3.5 weeks in. I just chopped it off where it was hanging and hoped I didn't fall open. I didnt.

I asked the doc and she said it was the right thing to do. hopefully it is the same for you - my only thought is it is a bit sooner.

I've left a message on our community midwives non urgent number asking for a call in the morning just so I can ask their opinion.

Childbirth, so glamorous! Grin
