Bought TENS 2nd hand- how do I know if pads are used?

Hi all,
I got a bargain in my local charity shop- £6.50 for MamaTENS my time machine. It's all in original packaging with manuals etc. I can't tell if it's been used or not as there are an extra set of batteries in the machine but the plastic screen cover was still on the handset. The pads are there but I have no idea if they've been used.

How can I tell if the pads are used and does it matter?? The box says for 1 user only :s

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that if they'd been used they'd have lost their 'stick' and look a bit, well, used. My pads very quickly became non-sticky and a bit grubby (stuck them on with tape in the end). If they seem pristine they probably are.

I bought a second hand one of eBay and ordered new pads through the mama tens website they came on a sealed bag.
They were £10 including postage so I your not sure if yours have been used could just order some.

You can get the pads in Boots too. Stock up on spare batteries while you're at it!
