Vbac after c section

My first labour was very long. Had an emergency c section after failed forceps. DS was very bruised as forceps had not been in correct place which would suggest he was not in a very good position. I was told DS would of never had fitted so they should have never tried forceps.
I am now 31weeks and having this baby at another hospital but my notes have been asked for but never showed up. I have to make the choice between vbac or c section again. Just don't know anyone that has had a vbac. Also been told I may have to have general instead of epidural for a c section due to back problems, so seeing another consultant . So any help or info on vbac would be amazing. SmileThank you
