Taking ARNICA 30 for c-section?

I bought some of this in boots yesterday after many mn'ers said they really thought it helped with healing.

I asked at the pharmacy in boots about how, when to take it, but they were a little vague and said they didn't think it was wise to take before section as it has never been properly tested on the effects on pregnancy.

So...when and how often do i take it? also for how long?

TIA

I was told arnica 200 was best - that is what I used for a VB. anyway.

I took them twoce a day before and tehn took them 3 times afterwards for about a week

HTH

P.S. still have most of a tub of arnica 200 if it is any good to you - has been opened though

SM...Could i buy them off you? do you think they are still ok to take as in expiry date?

That would be fab

Muma3...I didn't think it would be good to use cream on the cut actually, so may try that too.

Will check date tonight - you can have them if they are of use - I have failed to find a good use for them!

If using arnica cream don't put it on open skin, only around the edges IYSWIM!

Email me and I will reply tonight secur77AThotmailDOTcoDOTuk

I took arnica 30 2 days prior to c-section and then about a week after. Also once plaster came off I applied aloe vera gel to the scar to help with healing and diluted teetrea oil when I had a slight infection. HTH

muma3 · 23/06/2006 13:22

MRSBD-my ex MIL is an aloe vera rep and loves the stuff always off loading it on me ill ask her to get some for my friend then if it helps ?

MrsBigD · 23/06/2006 14:08

it helped for me twice I'll never forget when I went to see a doc approx 3 months after my c-section and he asked me 'so how long ago was that' and I told him, he was impressed as it had healed extremely well especially considering it was my second one. I think the combo with teetrea did it though but then again I had a small area of infection

Kidstrack · 23/06/2006 14:19

just to say had a tummy tuck 3m ago and i took the stronger pillules of arnica from boots 3days before my operation, i took them every 4hrs and also 7days after the op, i had no brusing whatsoever and healed fantasticly, i also had a c-section 7yrs ago and i didn't heal that well, had wound breakdown and brusing
