C-section recovery experiences?

I am one week into recovery from ELCS and I was wondering how long it took for tummy to reduce and does this overhang thing reduce / disappear or am I stuck with it? The area just looks totally alien to me (!) and keen to know what to expect as my last birth was vaginal - I had a big tummy for a while but it shrunk down fairly quickly. Also where the wound is, what happens to your pubic hair as it grows back?!? And the numbness? Too many questions, I am just a bit appalled by the current visuals !!

One week really isn't very long at all. I can't remember how long it took my tummy to reduce but probably a few weeks and the overhang went when the wound had healed, I just have a red flat line now but it does take a little while. The hair just grew back around the scar and the numbness I have below belly button was there for quite a while, in fact two years on it has improved but is still there, that is the one thing that never really goes completely although may be different for some. For me it took a good year before it felt relatively normal again so really it needs a bit of patience but don't worry it will feel and look alot better once the wound has healed completely x

Hair and numbness took about 3 months to get properly back to normal and now (2 years later) the scar is almost invisible (recommend massaging with bio oil once you've healed - it also got rid of an old scar on my arm).

Unfortunately the pouch/overhang never went, just reduced, probably because I stretched too much during pregnancy (lots of stretchmarks). My SIL, who had no stretchmarks Envy doesn't have the pouch anymore but we both had to do a lot of pilates to get where we are now, it didn't just go back by itself.

Hair back to normal and overhang back to normal in months. 18 months later I'm still numb from the scar to an inch up Sad

i cant remember from pregnancy 1 (I have forgotten so much!) but 5 weeks after DC2 have a pot belly and a massive overhang - I used to be size 10 on top Sad, the rest of me is pre pregnancy size

i want to hear some good news about it getting smaller!

all depends on your doc...i went for a doc who had a great reputation for arty scars and no overhang...although i was a private patient...
and true...although i had piled the pounds on, no overhang and the scar healed quick and beautifully it was very small...i conceived again 5 months later and eventhough i am two weeks away from c sectin nr 2 the scar still looks great...
good luck
my first was a natural birth and my c section recovery was better and quicker
