Question re. doulas

For Pupuce or anybody else who has any experience of them.
I have decided to try and go ahead and find a doula for the birth of my baby no. 2 at the end of March. I have left it rather late so many are booked up I think. Anyway, I am meeting with one next week and I am going to her house. At first she suggested we meet halfway but then she realised it was half term and said could I go to her house (half hour's drive probably) instead to which I said fine. Then of course dh, who is sceptical about the whole idea anyway, said that she should have come here to my house...
What do you think? He has planted the seeds of doubt in my mind but then he is very good at doing that.

Personnally I ALWAYS go to a potential client's house - helps me understand them better which is part of what I feel helps me build a relationship as this is about THEM not me. E-mail me off line and I can tell you if I know her and if you need to be worried...

Sorry I haven't got back to you before Pupuce but I've been away. Shall I contact you via your website or via Mumsnet?
I do have a gut feeling that she may not be right for the very reason that I am traipsing across London to see her (in my heavily pregnant state, not that that bothers me but you might have thought she might have thought about it), but I am worried I may not find anybody else at this stage.
Anyway, I will also see how it goes at the meeting tomorrow.

Either way - my website is probably faster.
