Hmm
WandaDoff · 29/08/2013 23:17

YABU

mikkii · 29/08/2013 23:19

Mine was so large it could have replaced the 5 fishes Grin

Yuk!

BigBrassBand · 29/08/2013 23:29

I know times are hard but surely a pack of mince would be more appetising! Grin

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 29/08/2013 23:35

Why would you? It has nutritional value to you apparently, "studies have shown that eating the placenta can curb postpartum depression, replenish nutrients, increase milk production, and slow postpartum hemmorrhage." but these are benefits for you. Im not sure your family really need them! Hmm

ClartyCarol · 29/08/2013 23:38

Oh don't be daft.

Yes of course yabu.

ClartyCarol · 29/08/2013 23:39

Don't be daft OP, that is.

noblegiraffe · 30/08/2013 10:04

Would it be cannibalism? Confused

noisytoys · 30/08/2013 10:09

YABU why would they want to eat it. Why not just give them a nice burger?

TortillasAndChocolate · 30/08/2013 12:20

Er yes... Pretty sure it's illegal too. You can only eat your own!

Tapirbackrider · 30/08/2013 12:23

And you would do this because.......?

Check for hairs first mind

usualsuspect · 30/08/2013 12:32

Is that you Jamie?

slash of balsamic, pinch of basil, drizzle of olive oil.

Can't beat it.

ipswichwitch · 30/08/2013 12:37

is that not cannibalism?..........
you'd be hard pressed to find many family members comfortable with eating relatives body parts (internet weirdos aside)

ipswichwitch · 30/08/2013 12:38

also, how would you cook it.......with fava beans and a nice chianti ..........

AmberLeaf · 30/08/2013 12:41

Why? eating your own is one thing, but feeding it to the family is cannibalism.

morethanpotatoprints · 30/08/2013 12:46

Er, can you imagine them agreeing to it, Grin
I think my dh and dc would have thought I'd gone mad if I suggested it.
If they aren't old enough to understand could you imagine the conversation in years to come.
Ok, if you want to eat it go ahead, but don't expect your family to.

Bellini28 · 30/08/2013 14:50

Eeeeeww!! My dh would have me sectioned for even suggesting it. We decided to bank ours. But if you do feel you would like to make use of your placenta who don't you donate it to blood cord research... Probably better than eating it!!

EasyMark · 30/08/2013 14:58

I personally would not but you could express breast milk and give them that as it containes everything and more than what the placenta has.

mummyaimz · 30/08/2013 15:13

Ipswichwitch you beat me to it with the fava beans and a nice chianti. When I gave birth, after when the placenta came out I asked if I could see it and I swear I nearly threw up. Didnt Tom cruise get Katie Holmes to eat her placenta because of Scientology?

SignoraStronza · 30/08/2013 15:27

Sounds like an offal ideaSad .
