Hi all. I could really do with some advice. I had a small amount of red spotting last night and then a smaller amount of brown spotting with some back pain a few hours later. No pain, plenty of movements from baby. I rang the hospital and they told me to come in. They did an ultrasound and baby fine but told me I had grade 3 anterior placenta previa. I am 33 weeks pregnant and they gave me a steroid injection and said I would have to stay in hospital for 4 weeks until they deliver at 37 weeks. My usual consultant is on holidays so I saw his locum today. My question is did this happen to anyone else and were they let go home after a few days? I have 4 children at home and can't stop the tears at the thought of staying here. I did have another very small amount of pink spotting about 10 weeks before but that time the consultant didnt even have to see me and was happy to let me home. This will be my 5th section. All great recoveries before. Between my third and fourth baby I had an ectopic pregnancy which ruptured and I had to have my left tube and most of my right ovary removed. In January of this year I had a miscarriage and got pregnant very quickly again. It started off as twins but I lost one at 7 weeks and took Cyclogest for 8 weeks. So thats where I stand at the moment. Sorry for the long essay. Thanks for advice/experiences.
