Hi,

I was planning on having a c section again but it seems little one may be coming very early, 27 weeks. Consultant advised on Vbac as evidence shows prems do better so will do it without a doubt. Has anyone else had similar prem birth?

I had premature baby at 30 weeks after 2 c-sections.

In my case, it was not planned as a VBAC. I had drugs to stop contractions and was told if I went into labour, I would have another c-section. In the end, DS2 arrived in 35 minutes so no time for the plan.

He was a good weight and did well with his lungs. He did have other complications but not to do with actual birth and is fine now.

I think if I'd known there was a possibility of VB, I would have been better prepared, but it was a huge shock and added to all the stress.

Will they give you drugs to stop the contractions? My advice would be to think through all the possibilities of what could happen and ask lots of questions. Good luck with everything.

Thank you, they have given me the steriod injections now so its unlikely they would stop the contractions as her lungs will be better developed. I had my mind set on a section so its another issue to worry about! Glad your ds is doing well.
