Things moving forward or wishful thinking?

Am 39+6 and had midwife appointment today - she did an internal and says my cervix is 75% but still slightly backwards which she says is nothing to worry about as this will probably come forward in labour
Baby is 2/5ths engaged and has been for about 4 weeks - DS is measuring at 42 weeks by size so all good
DTD when came back and since then have had a blood watery show type thing and regular back pain and contractions - they got to every 4 mins apart so bought great but was still talking through them so had a bath and kept going - for the past hour they have reduced to about every 7-8 mins apart
Do you think things are settling down and it was a false alarm or do you think this could be the start
Midwife also said I was 2cm dilated earlier too

I reckon you're off!
Have a rest though in case it's a long haul.

Hopefully it's the start of something after your positive midwife appointment, but thought I'd play devil's advocate and tell you ive had three full nights of false labour that fizzled out, all after DTD! Hope that's not the case for you!

Looks like it was a false alarm - been up since 3am with aches but contractions have slowed now - had a few regular ones again mid morning but now nothing just period pain style in my lower back and over bump
Trying to be upbeat about it all but really thought it was happening yesterday so gutted today
Lost some more watery blood and some plug with blood streaked through it this morning so guess I am back on the waiting game
Next sweep booked for Tuesday if he doesn't arrive in the meantime - might give DTD another go
