37+3. For about three hours now (since DP and I DTD!) I have had worsening backache/period pain that peaks every so often... started at ten mins apart and now sevenish.

Paracetamol didn't help and can't sleep through the pain... could this be it or is baby toying with me?! No plug or waters loss as yet... letting DP sleep at mo in case this is the real deal!

Just trying not to get too terrified excited, whilst also stuffing my face in hopeful preparation :).

Good luck if this is it. Is it your first baby. How exciting for you. Nothing like a new born baby.

Gerty1002 · 12/08/2013 00:46

Yes it's my first, so not sure if I'm reading the signs correctly! Hope it doesn't all amount to nothing!

I wish I was having my first all over again. It was so lovely. I remember feeling so proud of myself, as though I was the first person in the world to have a baby haha. Will check in the morning to see if things have stopped or progressed

I was in a similar position a few hours ago, low level back pain & some tightenings. About half an hour later I have birth to my dd! Still in shock, laying in bed with my sleeping baby in my arms! Good luck!!

mummylin2495 · 12/08/2013 02:40

Congratulations on your new baby, that is lovely

TooTiredToBeCreative · 12/08/2013 03:19

Thank you, am wide awake, watching her & dh sleep, still in shock! Hope you are doing ok Gerty! X

Gerty1002 · 12/08/2013 06:41

TooTired Congratulations! Enjoy your new baby :)

Infuriatingly I cannot say the same here... they were 6 mins apart, but started to get slightly less painful around 4:30pm, so I managed to fall asleep. Just woke up: no baby, no contractions as yet. How annoying!

Ah Gerty, frustrating but your baby will be worth the wait! X

notanyanymore · 12/08/2013 10:02

Congratulations TooTired , that must have been quite a shock!
Nevermind Gerty , not long to go!!

Gerty1002 · 12/08/2013 10:11

I'm just hoping the contractions were at least doing something to prepare my body! No loss from down below yet though have had a bit of a clear out (tmi) this morning.

I'll be very upset if I still have to wait another four weeks after all that fear excitement!

I'm sure it won't be too long for you to wait. Get as much rest as possible for now as you will soon be having the sleepless nights !

TooTiredToBeCreative · 12/08/2013 12:00

Thanks notany, was a planned home birth but was quite a surprise for dh to be the one delivering her! Let us know how you get on Gerty! X

Gerty1002 · 12/08/2013 12:14

Absolutely nothing going in at the moment, but have been in bed all morning trying to catch up on some sleep. Up and about now so we'll see if gravity has any impact, but I'm not feeling hopeful. hmmph.
