Placenta ragged?

Hope someone can help

Had my dd 5weeks ago and midwife said after that the placenta was ragged.

I'm still bleeding lightly and do get cramps is this normal?
With my ds I didn't have problems with placenta and bleeding lasted 3 weeks.

Thanks in advance

I thought 6 weeks was pretty normal for PP bleeding.
Do you feel feverish? Retained products would normally make you feel quite ill.

is it membranes or placenta, did you take antibiotics or have an ultrasound?

littlehelp · 10/08/2013 19:46

It was membranes no antibiotics as they are not sure if any was remaining, only said if heavy bleeding straight after birth and pains
Obs had the heavy bleeding but had after pains with it being my second,

It's not unusual to still be bleeding at 5 weeks, but given that it's longer than after your first, and you're having cramps, and the placenta was ragged, I think I would be going to the GP and asking for a scan.
