Anyone else had very quick labours?

I have 3 DCs and had a fairly quick labour for DC1 - 6 hours. Then with DC2 my labour was around 4 hours, and with DC3 established labour was only around an hour. I had a few twinges and thought I'd better get checked out as my labour had been quick before. On arrival at the hospital I was 3cm dilated and the midwife was going to send me home when I suddenly got very strong contractions, then my waters broke, and DC3 was born very quickly.

I would like a 4th baby but am a bit anxious about what would happen if I was to labour even quicker next time. DH is a bit worried as he doesn't particularly want to end up delivering the baby, and of course if I was alone it would be scary too.

I just wondered if anyone else has been in the same situation and whether or not it's likely that a 4th labour could be even quicker?

I have been thinking about this too!

DC1 average 12 hrs on papers but 2-9 cm in under 2 hours (then she got stuck..)

DC2 mild Braxton hicks for an hour nothing that hadn't stopped before, got out of bath & realised needed to push, DH rung 999, born 90 seconds after arriving at hospital (less than 20 mins from when I realised I was in labour)

I have toyed with the idea of a homebirth for a theoretical DC3 but worry that the MW wouldn't make it in time or that would have it in car or sainsburys....

Not much help sorry but watching with interest!

I had a fast fast fast first birth, 1 and a half hours in total, had an unplanned home birth (that was lovely!!) I did not know I was in labour at all. The second birth was 2.5 hours. I was aware of being in labour so hot footed it straight to hospital at the first twinge!

When I was pregnant with my second I felt like I couldn't talk to anyone else who had had a similar experience, I was very lucky to have a fab midwife who didn't mind talking everything through with me. She was a big calming influence on me. I was lucky though - I live a 7 minute drive away from the hospital. I would not have know what I would have wanted to do if we lived further afield.

my 4th labour was pretty fast from the first little pain to her being borning was about 45min-1 hour. it was just me and my then 3 year old at home. i had to call for an ambulance i was waiting for them to arrive. next thing i know babys head is there and i was on my own pushing her out. as i push the head out paramedic ran in thank god... there were 4 of them plus a trainee. and my bum up in the air in the living room. all went well though and it was besr birth ever :)

First baby my labour was about 12 hours, second baby was only 45 minutes so there's quite a difference!
