Episiotomy scar bleeding 5 weeks after birth

My scar has started bleeding again today almost 6 weeks after I gave birth.
I had the impression that things were healing ok, albeit slowly. The blood is bright red and fresh, but I'm not having any other pain apart from a little soreness.
My doctor is away on holiday now, I have called and emailed my midwife but no response yet. I'm not sure whether to go to the hospital. Has this happened to anyone else?

Not had this happen to me but i would suggest you get a mirror & have a good look yourself. If stiches or part of it looks swollen or is painful then get yourself to a gp. You can see any gp.

Generally once you have had the baby & been signed off te midwives dont want to see you and will tell you to see a gp. If really worried phone out of hours.
