Having pains but not in labour

So I ended up at the delivery suite last night, after having pains all day which by 8pm where around 5 mins apart. The pains took my breath away, but they checked me said I wasn't in labour and not dilated at all :( and got sent home.

Pains continued all night, so i haven't slept a wink....what's going on?

I'm beginning to think my body just isnt designed for childbirth, I had a EMCS due to failure to progress last time and my waters had gone. I so wanted a straightforward VBAC but my Planned CS date is getting closer.

Feeling a bit sorry for myself :(

Poor you. I think you are in labour! Cervical checks are a bit pointless because they only tell you how dilated you are at that particular moment and it can change very quickly. If you have a read through on here you'll find loads of stories of women who weren't dilated at all then suddenly they were 10cm. If you feel like you need to go back in call them and tell them. Good luck Smile

Thanks didn't know that. As we where leaving another lady was screaming her head off in the other room, and the midwife said come back when you feel like that... I felt really silly, DH tried to reassure me that they told me to go in after speaking with them on the phone and he also told the midwife that I actually go quiet when in pain.

Fingers crossed things get a move on.

Wow Miaow! Did you have a mw for the birth or was it too fast for that? With my second I went from 5cm to baby in 20 minutes which I thought was fast.

Any update op? I hope you had an uneventful birth and you're holding your lovely baby now Smile
