Hi, I am very newly pregnant with baby no1 but the gp has already asked me where I would like to give birth. I suffer from anxiety and of course want to have the best experience possible, but being new to the area and a first timer am not sure which to choose.

We live in hertfordshire between watford and ayelsbury so the choices are really watford general or stoke mandeville. Has anyone given birth at either in the last 18months and what was your experience? Which would be less busy? Watford also has the private option - has anyone tried this. And is there a chance it could be full on the day? Baby is due in April.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I am happy to chat to you. PM me for my number. I went to Watford twice.

Same boat.. I hate that we have to make a decision this early when we don't even know how things are going to turn out yet!

I have similar choices of hospital to you (I suspect we're not that far from each other!) and I don't have a clue which one to go for. I'm medically required to have an elective c-section so perhaps that might change recommendations a little.
