Induction after c-section?

Hi there,

I'm 33 weeks pregnant with my second child. I had a planned c-section with my first child 6 years ago due to her being breech.

At my first appointment at the hospital the consultant told me that I wouldn't be induced because of the higher risk of uterine rapture.

Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes a few weeks ago. A different consultant now told me that I will need to get induced at 38/39 weeks due to my diabetes.

I'm really confused now and not sure what I should do.

Does any of you have a similar experience? Any advice and help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much

A lot of consultants won't use prostin/propess if you've had a previous section. But they will book you in for an induction and on the day see if your waters can be broken and if they can do that and see if you labour. If they can't break your waters then do a section. Some consultants will use syntocinon drip once your waters have broken and some won't.

Some consultants will use propess as it can be removed if you're hyper stimulated.

You need to ask them to clarify what their plans are. Good luck.

Thank you. It was all very rushed at my last appointment. The consultant gave me an evil look when I told her that I'm not sure yet if I should go for a VBAC or another section lol Since then baby had been breech so hadn't really been thinking about it.
