Which Surrey hospital maternity unit?

Hi everyone, I'm in my third trimester and due to move to the Guildford area soon. I've heard good things about both Frimley Park and The Royal Surrey maternity units. I checked out the Frimley website and they have a notice up saying they are currently refurbishing the unit and they anticipate that there may be some increased noise levels as a result of the building work. Does anyone know just how bad this noise is? Don't fancy giving birth to the sound of drilling and hammering haha. Any advise would be really appreciate! Many thanks!!!

cant comment on Frimley Park too much though i have heard it is quite good. Have had two babies at Royal Surrey and can thoroughly recommend it. The midwives are lovely and have always felt very looked after.

I gave birth a Frimley Park and it was a brilliant experience. I was there before the refurbishments though. The midwives were amazing and accommodating. The ADU staff were brilliant too. Also I really really liked the food which is always good.

My SIL gave birth there recently too and also had a fab experience. She was induced and in for a while and said the care was excellent throughout the whole process.

The only bad thing to say was the postnatal ward seemed a bit understaffed, especially in the night. Everyone seems to be asked to stay overnight too, not just first time mums and complicated deliveries.

I had two of my four at frimley and both times the hospital was fantastic. Really great! Also was friends with a local midwife who thought frimley was the bee's knees too.

Interesting, cuppasarah, as I had a 6hour discharge with both my frimley babies.
