Ok. So as it says my first baby is due Monday. I'm all packed. But please any tips? Stuff I might not know from books and classes? Anything?!
Also has anyone got any helpful tips on how to spot the beginning of labour? I know all the typical stuff but I'm so sore I am worrying about some knowing if it's time to let the hospital know...thanks in advance and also for all the advice I have been given on the forum here cause its so great to know you aren't alone! Xx

One thing that threw us was our hospital's 'no-bags-on-the -ward' policy. We arrived from the delivery suite at 10pm, with the nurses desparate to kick DH out because it was past visiting time, only to be told I couldn't keep my bag, lovingly packed with all the feel-good items recommend by the NCT. I had to unpack the essentials and shove them in the bedside cupboard and DH had to take the rest home, all in a huge disorganised rush. I would definitely check your hospital's policy and if necessary repack with post-natal ward items in a separate plastic bag that can easily be decanted.
Also, a first labour can be long and you may well not feel like eating when you're in established labour so take plenty of energy drinks to avoid having to send DP off in search of a drinks machine/canteen.
Good luck!
