Can anyone reccommend where I can find a maternity nurse? Do I need to go through an agency (and therefore pay agency fees?) or are there independent maternity nurses?

Try adverts at the back of your local NCT magazine. Or Google search/Yellow pages? There are independent maternity nurses, it's just a question of finding them.

try www.familiesonline.co.uk - they have issues for various regions and ads for all sorts of stuff -might be worth a try - I find it a really useful magazine.
