Painkillers after cs

Hi!

I'm just wondering which painkillers you used in your c section recovery and how long you used them for.

I was prescribed paracetamol, ibuprofen and tramadol. I've been told to make sure I keep on top of them but I don't want to just go on taking them indefinitely. Likewise, yesterday I was late taking some as I thought I felt much better but then I was in pain so regretted not taking them sooner. How long can I expect to take them for?

I had diclofenac and cocodamol. I'm sure I took them for 3-4 weeks cos I was paranoid about getting addicted lol but it varies. Just go with your body I feel

Dp and cc here too but the dip made me shake so I switched on advice to ibuprofen. For the first week or so I needed them but the pain improved a lot after that.

I had dihydracodiene, paracetemol and ibuprofen. I can't actually remember how long I took them. I think I just used the dihydracodeine up. I only got tramadol once, when I was in the hospital. I would keep taking them as long as you need them myself. You'll recover sooner that way.

After my cs I had paracetamol and diclofenac for over a month after my EMCS. I wasn't resting, in pain and miserable.

Paracetamol for 10 days after my planned cs. I had been resting that time.

And off paracetamol by day 5 after my hysterectomy. I didn't leave my bed, I recommend this .

Do as little as you can, listen to your body and let it heal.

I was told to take the tramadol for 3 days after coming home from hospital but was given more in case. I've heard they're pretty strong so don't want to take them any longer really. Maybe I'll try with the ibuprofen and paracetamol for today and see how I get on then maybe drop one of those after a few days and see.
