York hospital - birthing pool

Hi, I'm trying to find out if York has a birthing pool facility? Some sites say it does and some say it doesn't. I know it was having some improvements done recently. Just wondered if anyone knew about this? And if anyone had experience of using it if there is one? Thanks.

I'm fairly sure it does - my SIL is due to give birth there soon and I know she's talking about planning to have a water birth there.

I've just given birth there, couldn't find out about it either, they did have a bath there though lol. My midwife was absolutely amazing there, best experience ever, she was called Kathy and Laura in triage is brill as well x

Did u ask about the birthing pool whilst there?

No unfortunately my labour was super fast and contractions were so close together I couldn't think of anything else, if this is worth anything when I was in the bath it did nothing for the pain :-( x

It did in June last year (2012) I used it. I think they are having another built too, it was great and the staff lovely x
