39+5 and no Braxton hicks at all - does this matter?

Not a single one - at least, nothing that I think would feel like a Braxton Hick...What should it feel like and does it matter if I haven't had any?

Perhaps you're really hard core and can't feel them? Grin

MostlyCake · 02/07/2013 10:33

What do they feel like? I occasionally get a funny 'fizzy' feeling - hard to describe but it feels kind of like an alkaseltzer dissolving in water right under my sternum - is that a BH? Don't feel it in my bump at all.

I don't think I ever had them before dd was born. I wasn't aware of one anyway.

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 02/07/2013 11:50

I haven't had them in all 3 of my pregnancies.

MostlyCake · 02/07/2013 11:52

thanks for that everyone, I guess it doesnt matter not having them than.

I never had them with DS1 and haven't had any yet with DS2 (39 weeks).

Have had no clues I was about to go into labour either time. Just woke up with contractions one day (with DS1).

Skygirls · 02/07/2013 19:57

Bra ton Hicks feels like a contraction where your tummy/bump goes hard. It's irregular and shouldn't hurt.
I only ever had 1 BH in my 2nd pg. but none at all in my 1st or 3rd.

Nothing to worry about if you don't get them. Perfectly normal, some people do and some don't.

Fizzy feeling under sternum? Heartburn or indigestion?

Good luck with your soon to arrive DC.

braxton even. Silly predictive text!

MostlyCake · 03/07/2013 13:05

Thanks Skygirls! Probably heartburn - I have had the worst heartburn ever and it's probably just something to do with that Smile

BlueChampagne · 03/07/2013 14:03

Doesn't matter a bit - I never had any with my 2.
